What is the Word of Truth website?

Word of Truth is a collection of tools for studying the Arabic Bible. This site enables the student of Scripture to understand the Greek words of the New Testament, view cross references, see multiple Bible translations in parallel, and more. Below you will find a list of the tools currently available with a description and brief instructions for how to use each resource.

Two Ways to Study

Chapter View
What is it?
The chapter view contains the text of the Van Dyke Arabic Bible, displayed one chapter at a time.
How do I use it?
View the Bible a chapter at a time, click on any word to study the Greek word behind the translation, click on the verse number to go to the verse view for that verse.

Verse View
What is it?
The verse view contains the text of the Van Dyke Arabic Bible, displayed one verse at a time.
How do I use it?
View the Bible a verse at a time, use the menu tabs to go to the cross reference, parallel version, or interlinear (regular and reverse) resources.

Bible Search
What is it?
The Bible search is a tool that enables you to find a word or phrase in the Arabic Bible.
How do I use it?
Use the search bar to find an Arabic word or phrase and click on it to go to the Bible (chapter view).

Word Study
What is it?
The word study tool is a feature that gives you information about the Greek text of the New Testament, including a definition from the Strong’s dictionary and parsing information for every occurrence of every word.
How do I use it?
Go to the Bible (chapter view) by using the menus above or searching for an Arabic word, then click on any word to see a popup window with information. You can then click on the Strong’s number (G????) to view the dictionary entry for that word and a list of every occurrence of that word in the Bible.

Cross References
What is it?
Cross references are verses of the Bible that are linked in some way to the verse you are studying. They may have a word or phrase in common or they may give information about the same topic. The cross reference tool is a list of cross references for each verse of the Bible.
How do I use it?
Go to cross references, then use the menus to navigate to the verse you want to view.

Parallel Versions (Chapter View or Verse View)
What is it?
The parallel version viewer is a tool that lets you see four translations of the Bible at once. There are two Arabic translations, the Van Dyke and Ketab El Hayet, and two English translations, the King James Version and the English Standard Version.
How do I use it?
Go to parallel versions, then use the menus to navigate to the verse you want to view.

Interlinear and Reverse Interlinear
What is it?
An interlinear ("between the lines") Bible translation is one that puts the translation directly below the source text, the Hebrew and Aramaic of the Old Testament or the Greek of the New Testament. In this interlinear, you will find the Van Dyke translation aligned to the text of the Greek New Testament. The normal interlinear follows the Greek word order and the reverse interlinear follows the order of the Arabic text.
